POSITION ROLE

The Receiving Yard clerk in a manufacturing facility organizes, oversees, and controls the receipt of raw materials, components, and supplies. They ensure that received goods comply with purchase orders, are in good condition, and are handled safely before being transferred to storage or production.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Transportation Planning and Coordination

• Obtain freight quotes from various transportation companies
• Communicate with customers to obtain approval of shipping costs
• Shop, select, and schedule carriers to ensure efficient logistics
• Manage daily shipments and follow up on deliveries

Order Preparation and Shipping

• Prepare orders from inventory or for auctions
• Prepare all shipping documents (BOL, bills of lading, envelopes, labels, etc.)
• Produce Bills of Lading (BOL) according to carrier requirements

Administrative and Systems Management

• Process shipments in the PREXTRA system
• Use ORG AGB and Airtable for tracking and planning
• Take photos of shipments and file them in order records

Scan and file all shipping-related documents

• Follow-up, Inventory, and Operational Support
• Perform yard inventory every three (3) months
• Answer phone calls and greet visitors at the entrance, as needed
• Manage and follow up on emails related to shipping and logistics
• Perform all other related duties as required

PROFILE & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Experience using a forklift (certification an asset).
• Ability to work in an organized, independent, and thorough manner.
• Friendly, resourceful, positive, and collaborative attitude.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills in French and English, primarily oral, in order to interact with carriers, customers, and the team.
